2 years later: Half Moon Bay unveils renderings for farmworker memorial garden after mass shooting
Briefly

Two years after a tragic mass shooting in Half Moon Bay that took the lives of seven farmworkers, the city is planning a permanent memorial. Community input is being gathered during a Remembrance Day event in Mac Dutra Plaza, where residents can view potential designs for a memorial garden. A committee has narrowed it down to three options, aiming to honor the victims and recognize the contributions of farmworkers to the local community. The suspect in the shooting has pleaded not guilty, with the trial expected to commence in April.
"We continue to hear from the community, there's a need to honor not just the victims but again the farmworkers on the coast," said Julissa Acosta.
"Two years ago today it changed the lives of a lot of us, it changed the history of Half Moon Bay, it went across the nation..." - Former Mayor Joaquin Jimenez.
