The Bureau of Prisons announced the news on Tuesday, confirming Dear died of natural causes on Saturday at a medical facility for federal inmates in Springfield, Mo. He was 67. He is a resident of Burton, Michigan, which is about eight miles from Grand Blanc Township, where the attack happened.
