The first arrest in the cold-case investigation came after gardaí issued a detailed appeal over the weekend. This was part of a strategy to 'spook' the suspect prior to his arrest.
The Serious Crime Review Team has generated almost 800 recommendations for detectives in Kildare to follow up on, relating to new and old lines of inquiry.
These include evaluating telephone traffic, CCTV evidence, witness statements, and intelligence related to the investigation, marking a thorough and complex review process.
The suspect, who is in his 50s and comes from a highly respectable family, had previously given a statement after he was one of the last to interact with Ms Dullard.
