OpenAI recently unveiled Deep Research, a feature enhancing ChatGPT's capabilities by allowing it to analyze and synthesize content from various online sources. Users can upload files, and ChatGPT will compile detailed reports over 5 to 30 minutes. Its efficiency is likened to that of a research analyst. Although there are drawbacks, like occasional inaccuracies, the feature aims for improvement through usage. Mark Chen highlighted that this development is key in their pursuit of artificial general intelligence. The service is available for $200 per month under ChatGPT Pro, with competitors like Google offering similar features.
"It accomplishes in tens of minutes what would take a human many hours," OpenAI says of the new feature.
"Our ultimate aspiration is a model that can uncover and discover new knowledge for itself," said Mark Chen, chief research officer at OpenAI.
