The Chicken Hero pavilion, located in Urban Forest Jakarta, is an innovative structure designed to resemble a hill and promote independent poultry farming. Known as the Chicken Coop, it educates visitors on reducing food waste, tackling Indonesia's significant food loss issue. Featuring a sustainable design that utilizes reclaimed materials, the pavilion serves both functional and aesthetic purposes. It actively composts organic waste from local restaurants, providing a model for circular economy practices while distributing fresh eggs back to the community. This initiative symbolizes a commitment to sustainability in urban settings and offers insights into eco-friendly agriculture.
The pavilion humbly blends into the landscape, resembling another hill in the park and offers free, inclusive education and entertainment through its unique design.
This initiative aims to reduce household and community food waste and showcases eco-friendly chicken coop designs within a sustainable circular economy context.
The cross-ventilated interior space, covered with reclaimed bamboo, optimizes space efficiency while managing waste, preserving green areas, and providing comfort to the chickens.
During its display, the pavilion served as a food waste processor for six restaurants, utilizing organic waste to support sustainable backyard poultry farming.
