A 15-year-old boy in Queens was seriously injured when he became impaled by a wrought iron fence while playing with a friend. Firefighters from the FDNY responded promptly, using a bandsaw to cut the fence around the boy's leg to avoid causing additional injury. The extraction process took about ten minutes and was conducted smoothly, with the boy remaining calm throughout. He was transported to Bellevue Hospital where he is reported to be in stable condition.
