The government is disbursing final compensation payments this week, allocating over 13 million for inquiries into the infected blood scandal affecting thousands of victims.
Over 30,000 people contracted HIV and hepatitis due to contaminated blood products in the 1970s and 80s, prompting the largest NHS compensation initiative.
Cabinet office minister Nick Thomas-Symonds stated, "No amount of compensation could fully address the suffering... I hope this brings reassurance to a community who have suffered immeasurably."
