Former footballers come together to march for Motor Neurone Disease research

The upcoming March of the Day II will occur from March 21 to 23, covering approximately 178 miles across London, Essex, and Suffolk. The event involves a core team and over 400 additional walkers, allowing participants to choose their distance. Last year, it raised £200,000 for the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation, with a target of raising over £250,000 this year. Many former footballers are joining to support the cause, marking a community effort to raise awareness and funds for those affected by motor neuron disease.
There will be a core team rotating stages with over 400 other walkers participating; guests can choose distances from a 3-mile stroll to long endurance tests.
Last year's event raised £200,000 for the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation; the aim for 2025 is to exceed £250,000 in fundraising efforts.
Over 30 former footballers, including international stars, have signed up to support the MND Community, highlighting the event’s strong ties to the sport.
