Gordon Ramsay is consolidating his global dining empire by merging his US and UK restaurant operations with a 50-50 partnership with Lion Capital. This move follows previous collaborations, including a $100 million investment by Lion Capital in 2019 aimed at expanding Ramsay's presence in the US market. Ramsay's restaurant business employs over 1,800 staff globally and saw sales of $500.8 million last year. The merger is set to enhance growth potential, enabling new partnerships and expanded dining offerings, including a large new venture in London's Bishopsgate.
This is an exciting new chapter for our business, building on over five years of collaboration with Lion Capital. Together, we are poised to grow our international reach.
The arrangement builds on a previous partnership forged in 2019, when Lion Capital pledged $100 million to expand Ramsay's US portfolio.
Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, founded in 1998, includes 34 UK establishments and 32 US sites, alongside 22 other venues across various countries.
Ramsay has been ramping up his UK operations, recently unveiling plans for a sprawling dining experience at 22 Bishopsgate in central London.
