M25 reopens after almost 12 hours of closure following serious' crash

The M25 near Romford was closed for nearly 12 hours following a serious crash, causing severe delays and traffic congestion, with reports of up to three hours of waiting time.
Following the incident at noon, the clockwise carriageway reopened at 3pm with one lane still closed, but the anticlockwise side remained fully shut until almost midnight.
Traffic management was undertaken by National Highways Traffic Officers who assisted at the scene, ensuring vehicles trapped in the closure were turned around and released quickly.
