Man (80s) dies after being struck by car in Co Galway
"A car struck a pedestrian on the N83 on the Tuam Road at Peake in Loughgeorge on Friday. The pedestrian, a man aged in his 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner was notified, and the man has since been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Galway, where a post-mortem examination will be arranged. Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the scene shortly after 11.30pm yesterday."
