Nox, the last of four peregrine falcon chicks hatched on Berkeley's Campanile, successfully takes flight for independence after recovering from a serious injury.
Bill Ferrier, Nox's falconer and veterinarian, expressed confidence in his recovery, noting, "With each flight he got better, his muscles were there, I just had to wake them up."
Mary Malec, a raptor expert, praised Nox's strength and determination, stating, "I'm so very pleased with his strength." Nox's journey symbolized resilience and hope.
After a slow start, Nox eventually took flight, showcasing his recovery and readiness for life in the wild, much to the delight of his supporters.
