The baby turtle was found stranded in New South Wales's Booderee national park last April, much further south than the usual hatching grounds. After days of feeding on squid, sardines and marine vitamins, BB, whose sex cannot be determined until it is fully mature, revived. Through winter, BB remained in heated rehabilitation pools to thermoregulate while offshore waters remained too cold.

Khao Tom, a two-month-old elephant, plays with a wildlife officer, nudging his face and curling her trunk around his wrist. The Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA is giving a presentation about the Wildlife Care Center in Saratoga on Nov. 1. The care center opened in March. Staff will be presenting about the wildlife programs and facilities they use to treat sick, injured or orphaned animals before releasing them back into the wild. The presentation is scheduled from 1-2 p.m. in the Maple Room of Saratoga Library.

The hawk was found, unable to fly, on a picnic table at a San Jose park in late July, suffering from an open head wound and tearing and swelling in her right eye impacting her vision, which is integral to hunting for food, according to a press release from PHS/SPCA. Seal Rescue Ireland, based in Courtown, Co Wexford, has an extensive network of volunteers around the country who rescue distressed seals and transport them to the charity's care facility. Seal Rescue Ireland is a charity dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of sick, injured, or orphaned seals. Founded in 2010, the charity was originally based in Dingle, Co Kerry, before a large storm in 2014 destroyed their original facility and caused them to move to their current home in Courtown, Co Wexford.

The White Stork Project in Sussex has sought to create new colonies of rehabilitated injured birds at Knepp and Wadhurst Park since 2016, with its first success in breeding occurring in 2020.

Oona, a puffin who was blown 110 miles inland, is undergoing assessment for release after being rescued and nursed back to health by Vets for Pets.
