The author recounts a mini-break at the Glasgow Westerwood Hotel Spa and Golf Resort with their son, who studies in Edinburgh. The choice of this hotel was to escape their stressful routines. Despite unpleasant weather upon arrival, the hotel offered a warm atmosphere. Their room featured two double beds with a picturesque view of a renowned golf course designed by Seve Ballesteros. Though unable to secure longer spa treatments, they enjoyed a relaxing 25-minute full-body exfoliation and massage, encapsulating a rejuvenating experience.
We both lead quite stressful lives and as the Victorian proverb attests, a change is as good as a rest and I figured somewhere far from the madding crowd would be good for both of us.
The weekends get very busy here and the 50-minute spas were unavailable but we were lucky and enjoyed a 25-minute treat.
