Jesse Dubois, 34, of Richmond, received a two-month work program sentence for killing 68-year-old Wolfgang Hebold in a booze-related hit and run.
Using a 2011 burgundy Nissan Sentra, Dubois hit and killed the victim while intoxicated, leading to a quick police response.
Despite the severity of the crime, Dubois has no prior convictions and received a sentence that includes community service instead of jail time.
His sentence entailed 60 days of community service as part of a work alternative program, with a two-year probation period following.
