The crash was reported at 5:35 p.m. after a woman driving a silver 2007 Ford sedan heading west on Rancho Drive took a left turn onto southbound Monterey Road, according to the San Jose Police Department. That put her in the path of a northbound blue 2013 BMW coupe, and the two vehicles collided, causing the BMW to hit the center divider and cross into southbound lanes.
A 47-year-old Antioch man driving a Toyota Corolla collided with a 47-year-old man traveling northbound on a motorcycle at about 9:23 p.m. at the intersection of 42nd Ave. and International Boulevard, police said Saturday. Police found the Corolla driver unresponsive allegedly with open containers of alcohol and marijuana in the vehicle. He died from injuries suffered in the crash, according to police.
As KTVU reports, and as you can hear from a witness, an employee at Splash San Jose, in the video below, the first crash happened just before 11 pm, when a white Lexus slammed into some pedestrian-safety barricades. The white barricades are typically used to block car traffic from this busy nightlife block, the unit block of Post Street, and the car first came to rest outside Splash, with the driver then reportedly getting out and appearing like he wanted to get into the club.
