The streaming app Tidal is downsizing, with layoffs confirmed across business and design teams, as the company adjusts its workforce for operational clarity.
CEO Jack Dorsey's leaked memo indicated that Tidal will reduce its design team and foundational roles, with anticipated cuts to engineering as well.
Sources suggest around 100 employees could be laid off, representing approximately a quarter of Tidal's current workforce, following a previous 10% cut last December.
Tidal previously merged its high-fidelity music plans, resulting in a more competitive pricing strategy while enhancing audio quality with FLAC and Dolby Atmos.
