The N7 motorway between junctions 8 and 7 remained closed overnight, and diversions were in place, while Garda Forensic Collision Investigators were carrying out a technical examination of the scene."

"In a separate incident, a pedestrian, aged in his 40s, was killed after being struck by a car in Co Carlow yesterday. Gardaí are now investigating the incident, which happened at 4.30pm on the R703 in Ballyroughan Big, Borris in Co Carlow on Saturday afternoon. The pedestrian, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. A Garda spokesperson said the coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course."
A man in his 30s was struck by a bus on the N7 motorway between junctions 8 and 7 eastbound in Kill at approximately 3.30pm on Saturday and was taken to Tallaght University Hospital with serious injuries; he died the following evening and a post-mortem will take place. The bus driver, also in his 30s, was uninjured and two passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The N7 was closed overnight while Garda Forensic Collision Investigators examined the scene. GardaĆ­ are appealing for witnesses and for any dash-cam or other footage. Separately, a man in his 40s was struck and killed by a car on the R703 in Co Carlow; the driver was uninjured and the coroner has been notified.
