Deirdre O'Connor, wife of former NYPD Commissioner Tom Donlon, was arrested for lapsed insurance following a three-vehicle collision in Manhattan on Monday night.
The crash involved O'Connor's vehicle being rear-ended, pushing her car into a Toyota Sienna carrying a man in a wheelchair, who sustained injuries.
Although Donlon claimed ignorance of his wife's troubles when contacted, he reportedly arrived at the precinct shortly after her arrest.
The investigation into the incident continues, with the driver who caused the accident still at large.
