Destroyer has unveiled their latest single, "Hydroplaning off the Edge of the World," which follows the previous release of "Bologna". This track is part of Dan Bejar's upcoming album, 'Dan's Boogie', set to release on March 28. The accompanying music video, directed by collaborator Sydney Hermant, features nighttime visuals shot by Bejar himself. In a playful tone, Bejar describes the video-making process, emphasizing the nostalgic use of an old camera and the organic development of the project from a simple visualizer to an expansive video narrative. Bejar is also gearing up to join Father John Misty on tour soon.
"Me and Sydney started this off as a 'Hydroplaning' visualizer, dusting off her 24-year-old Canon GL2 after many dormant years," Bejar said.
"I love the grain of the picture. Then things ballooned into a full-on video. I walk around in it, trying to look Parisian, talking to the crows".
This month, Bejar will support Father John Misty on his North American tour, with the two artists playing their first shows together next week.
