"I sat in the kitchen and wrote the words: I don't want half-hearted love affairs / I need someone who really cares. This was the beginning of my song 'Perfect' which evolved over time from a downbeat reggae-esque tune to what it is now known for."
"When I moved back to London, I started doing stuff with Eddi Reader. I played a tape of 'Perfect' for her and to my surprise, she wanted to perform it together. Our first performance was at the Duke of Wellington pub, and we got an amazing reaction from the audience."
