Frontman Jim James, who’s produced or co-produced all of My Morning Jacket’s studio albums since their debut, ceded control behind the boards to producer Brendan O'Brien- who worked on Bruce Springsteen’s The Rising.
James said in a press statement, "It almost felt like an out-of-body experience to step back and give control over to someone who’s far more accomplished and made so many more records than us, but in the end I was able to enjoy the process maybe more than I ever have before."
The lead single 'Time Waited' comes with a music video, directed by Danny Clinch, that incorporates archival photos and performance footage.
In April, My Morning Jacket, will stage the next edition of their One Big Holiday festival, which has been running since 2013, at Seascape Resort, Florida.
