Tate McRae's new album 'So Close So What,' featuring a collaboration with her boyfriend The Kid Laroi, was dropped alongside Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco's single 'Call Me When You Break Up.' The timing led to playful comparisons between the musical couples. McRae shared insights at a Spotify listening party, revealing that her collaboration with Laroi was both enjoyable and a little challenging due to their usual light-hearted relationship. Despite the Valentine's Day theme, last week's releases were humorously noted for being more focused on dislike, referencing Drake.
It was a really funny process, because me and Laroi have never really, like, taken each other seriously. You know when you're in a relationship and you sing around each other, but you don't really, like, sing? So it was a little stressful being in the studio singing and writing in front of him, but it was a cool experience to watch him in his process.
Typically, many people proclaim love in February, usually around the 14th; however, last Friday was more focused on hate, thanks to Drake.
