Britons struggle to name common fish, survey shows
Briefly

The poll conducted by the Marine Stewardship Council revealed that 80% of seafood consumed in the UK comes from just five types: cod, haddock, salmon, tuna, and prawns.
Despite 79% of respondents expressing a desire to be more adventurous with their seafood choices, 43% admitted to only eating fish if it is battered or breadcrumbed.
George Clark, MSC's director, emphasized the opportunity for consumers to enhance their fish knowledge: "There is a big opportunity for consumers to improve their fish knowledge and seafood skills."
The survey pointed out that many Britons have misconceptions about fish; for example, 10% believed a coley was a dog breed, highlighting a gap in seafood education.
