Illuminate and the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department will kick off the 5th season of free live music at the historic Golden Gate Bandshell on March 1, 2025. The series will present over 125 performances, featuring various genres and legendary artists, running through mid-November. The opening concert will highlight women-fronted bands and pay tribute to Paul McCartney. The Bandshell, renovated in 2020, has hosted more than 600 shows in the last four years, solidifying its status as a hub for independent music in Golden Gate Park.
Illuminate LIVE 2025 will feature more than 125 free concerts at Golden Gate Bandshell, starting with women-fronted bands on March 1, continuing through mid-November.
Over four years, Illuminate has hosted over 600 shows, attracting nearly 1 million attendees at the Bandshell, now replete with advanced sound and lighting systems.
