In 2025, Illuminate and SF Rec and Park will kick off a vibrant fifth season of free live music at the Golden Gate Bandshell, celebrating its 125th anniversary. The season will commence on March 1 with women-fronted bands, featuring concerts through mid-November, primarily on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The venue has cultivated a reputation for diverse performances and iconic events, attracting nearly 1 million visitors over the past four years. The renovated Bandshell continues to serve as a focal point for San Francisco's music scene, enhanced by world-class sound and lighting equipment.
Illuminate and SF Rec and Park will celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bandshell with over 125 free concerts from March to November 2025.
The Bandshell has transformed into a hub for diverse music genres, hosting notable performances and series like Crucial Reggae Sundays, attracting nearly 1 million attendees.
The Bandshell, renovated in 2020 with advanced sound systems, remains a pivotal venue for independent music, serving 23 million visitors annually within Golden Gate Park.
Starting the season on March 1, the concerts will also highlight a tribute to Paul McCartney, coinciding with an exhibit at the de Young Museum.
