Early Thursday, 11 marked and unmarked police cars were set ablaze at an NYPD lot in Bushwick, prompting an investigation by police. Fire-starting devices were discovered at the scene, although no injuries were reported. Three additional vehicles contained incendiary devices that failed to ignite. Despite a strong smell of gasoline lingering in the area, no connections have been established between the fires and nearby protests, as none had occurred recently. Mayor Eric Adams assured that authorities would pursue and apprehend those responsible for the arson.
