NJ Transit strike: Commuters scramble
Briefly

Due to a strike by New Jersey Transit engineers, Cranford commuters scrambled for express bus service to Manhattan, one of the few remaining options for those impacted. Many commuters expressed confusion and frustration about their new travel arrangements, highlighting the struggles of those with tight schedules and commitments. While some chose private charter services, others were uncertain about their ability to reach their destinations. New Jersey's governor criticized the strike, asserting that a reasonable offer to the union had been made, which would have equated wages with other regional transit systems.

Express buses did look full, and they ran frequently enough to keep lines from getting too long on Friday morning.
