NYC Council Speaker Adrienne Adams heads Black History Month event - but Mayor Eric Adams a no-show
Briefly

Mayor Eric Adams was notably absent at a Black History Month event, where Council Speaker Adrienne Adams took the opportunity to criticize former President Trump, positioning herself as a potential alternative for moderate Democratic voters. The Council Speaker has called for Adams' resignation following the DOJ's interference in his federal corruption case. Despite the controversy, Speaker Adams avoided directly addressing her mayoral ambitions. Other political figures at the event questioned Adams' commitment. The local pastor noted that Adams had prior commitments that prevented his attendance.
"We are prepared to defend against the backlash by the Trump administration that wants to erase our contribution and history and opportunities," claimed Speaker Adams while addressing about 100 people at First Central Baptist Church's Black History Month Town Hall.
"[Mayor Adams] is running scared," Blake told The Post. "I'm running for mayor to help the people. If he won't show up in all places, he has no business running."
