New York City's Department of Transportation has joined the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) in a lawsuit against the Trump administration's efforts to block congestion pricing. The lawsuit, originally filed by the MTA in February, seeks to affirm the legitimacy of congestion pricing despite opposition from former President Trump, who threatened to withhold funding. City officials, including Mayor Eric Adams, advocate for improving New York's transportation system and view congestion pricing as an essential strategy to manage traffic and generate revenue.
In case there were any doubts, MTA, State and City reaffirmed in a court filing that congestion pricing is here to stay and that the arguments made have zero merit.
