Zohran Mamdani is gaining traction in the mayoral race, polling at 27% among likely voters in a recent internal poll, as compared to Andrew Cuomo's 40% lead. While Cuomo maintains a significant advantage, the Mamdani campaign notes his lower name recognition and robust field operations, having knocked over 600,000 doors. Despite Cuomo's established lead, the campaign is optimistic about closing the gap as the primary approaches, which is scheduled for June 24.
"With still a third lower name recognition than Cuomo and millions in cash on hand, Zohran is nowhere near his ceiling," Mamdani's campaign said.
"Heading into the final stretch, our campaign will leverage its massive field operation-which has now knocked more than 600,000 doors-to close the gap with the disgraced ex.-Governor and win a city every New Yorker can afford to call home."
