Harbaugh: Ravens still believe playoffs possible
""Our focus going forward and what we can accomplish for the next 11 games and try to earn our way into the playoffs, which obviously as it was pointed out [Sunday] night has not been done very often with the record we have," Harbaugh said Monday. "But we still believe we can do it.""
""If I didn't think we had the talent or the ability or the work ethic or the care factor from everybody in the building, then I wouldn't be as optimistic as I am," Harbaugh said. "I'm not trying to stand up here and fe""
John Harbaugh remains confident the Baltimore Ravens can reach the postseason despite a 1-5 start. Since the NFL's first postseason in 1933, only 1% of teams starting 1-5 or worse have rebounded to make the playoffs, with four teams accomplishing it: 1970 Cincinnati Bengals, 2015 Kansas City Chiefs, 2018 Indianapolis Colts and 2020 Washington Football Team. Injuries and a high level of opponents contributed to the Ravens' struggles. ESPN Analytics lists Baltimore with the toughest strength of schedule in the first six weeks and ranks the final 11-week schedule 27th. ESPN Analytics gives Baltimore a 24.8% chance of making the playoffs. Harbaugh cites talent, ability, work ethic and a care factor across the organization as reasons for optimism.
