Juan Rivas, 45, was arrested after stabbing his girlfriend Yesenia Hall, 42, to death and severely wounding her 16-year-old son in their Bronx apartment at 956 Sherman Ave. Officers from the 44th Precinct responded to 911 calls reporting an assault in progress after neighbors heard screaming. Police discovered blood in the hallway leading to the apartment where they found Hall stabbed multiple times in the back, stomach, and neck. Her son sustained stab wounds to his neck and back. Both were transported to Lincoln Hospital, where Hall was pronounced dead. The teenager remains in stable condition and is expected to survive. Rivas fled but was apprehended shortly after. He faces charges including murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, criminal possession of a weapon, and assault.
