The two NYPD cops shot allegedly by a 19-year-old Venezuelan migrant were given a guard of honor as they were released from a Queens hospital Monday morning.
The officers, Christopher Abreu, 26, and his partner Richard Yarusso, also 26, were greeted by rounds of applause as they emerged from Elmhurst General Hospital - just hours after the violent ordeal.
Abreu, who took a bullet to the leg, was escorted from the hospital in a wheelchair.
His partner followed closely behind after he was struck in the front of his bulletproof vest. The two cops were both congratulated by NYPD officials before being whisked away in police vans.
