NASA demands SpaceX change its spacecraft to speed up return of astronauts marooned in space
Briefly

NASA has decided to proceed with the replacement of astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore due to delays in SpaceX's new Dragon capsule, which was initially set for the Crew-10 mission. Instead, NASA is requiring the use of an already successful spacecraft, the Endurance, to ferry the new crew. The Crew-10 mission, which includes four astronauts from the U.S., Japan, and Russia, is now scheduled to launch on March 12, allowing for a timely transition for Williams and Wilmore, who have been aboard since June 2024.
NASA has now decided not to wait any longer and is demanding Elon Musk's space company use a ship that has already successfully carried out other space missions.
Williams and Wilmore will thus be able to return to Earth from mid-March, with the earliest possible date for Crew-10 to take off being March 12.
