Raheem Bilal, a 70-year-old button salesman, reported being stabbed in his Chelsea apartment by his 32-year-old partner Aqaw Bior during a dispute about their newborn. Bilal, who has five other children from a previous marriage, revealed the attack escalated after he questioned her about their child. Following the incident, Bior fled but was later apprehended by police. She faces several charges including assault with a weapon. Bilal was treated for his injuries and expressed regret for not having met his newborn daughter yet.
"I waited nine months just to see the look on my baby's face, and I haven't seen her yet in person," Bilal said as he stood outside his high-rise with the side of his head covered in dried blood.
"I said, 'Are you serious? Put the knife down.' ... She told me, 'I will kill you!'"
"She told me she was sorry. 'I didn't mean to do it. I got mad,'" Bilal said.
"She is Krazy Kat. She is crazy as Krazy Kat," he said, referring to the old cartoon.
