Florida culprit evading arrest in tree nabbed by K9 who sniffed out his nefarious scent
Briefly

A burglary suspect named Gregory Yates Jr. was apprehended by K9 Scout, a highly decorated police dog, after he attempted to break into a shed and fled into the woods. Scout followed Yates' scent and discovered him trying to hide among tree branches. With his keen abilities and enthusiastic demeanor, Scout prompted Yates to descend from his spot. Yates and his accomplice, Nicole Hillesland, were taken into custody, both facing charges of burglary and possession of burglary tools. K9 Scout, noted for his valor, recently joined the police force.
K9 Scout, a highly decorated pooch, found Gregory Yates Jr. tucked away in the evergreen after the alleged lawbreaker attempted to break into a homeowner's shed.
The trail led across NE 640 Street and eventually North, where Scout stopped beneath a tree, looked up, and found Yates trying to blend in with the branches.
Unfortunately for Mr. Yates, Scout doesn't fall for camouflage. With the kind of enthusiasm only a four-legged deputy can muster, Scout encouraged the suspect down from his perch.
Scout is a certified patrol and narcotics detection dog who has received a Medal of Valor and a Medal of Distinction.
