Acast launches school to teach advertisers about podcasts
Briefly

Acast has started Acast Ads Academy, a free certification program to teach marketers practical podcast advertising skills. The program provides structured, flexible, self-paced training covering ad formats, creative, targeting, programmatic buying, and measurement. Two on-demand courses are available: Podcast Advertising 101 for newcomers covering how podcast advertising works, campaign planning, measurement, and creative drivers; and Podcast Advertising 201 for experienced advertisers covering advanced targeting, programmatic buying, and omnichannel optimization. A final exam is required and passing students receive industry-recognized certification. The program is open globally, free to enroll, and aims to train thousands worldwide in its first year.
"Despite strong growth in podcast listenership, many marketers still see the channel as complex and hard to understand," Acast asserts. "Ads Academy aims to remove that friction by providing structured, flexible training that covers everything from ad formats and creative to targeting, programmatic buying, and measurement." The curriculum provides two on-demand courses, free of charge, designed to build the knowledge and skills which help plan and implement a podcast advertising campaign.
Acast says this idea comes from growing industry demand, and is built on Acas's experience and campaign data. The company expects the course to train "thousands worldwide in its first year." Podcast Advertising 101 - For marketers new to podcast advertising, covering how podcast advertising works, campaign planning, measurement, and what drives standout creative. Podcast Advertising 201 - For experienced advertisers, featuring advanced targeting strategies, programmatic buying, and omnichannel campaign optimization.
