Fair Weather has made a comeback in Portland's restaurant scene, taking over the former Jacqueline space and bringing back its popular offerings after being shut down due to the pandemic in 2021. Now open under new head chef Cici Wollack, Fair Weather offers an airy cafe experience with favorites like jasmine rice porridge, yeasted waffles, and cinnamon cruller doughnuts. The restaurant is attracting returning locals and plans to start dinner service soon with innovative dishes. The reopening signals a positive shift in the local dining landscape post-COVID.
"The old neighborhood regulars are coming back in," Hanson says. "It's been a lot of fun."
Chef Cici Wollack, a Michigan native, is leading Fair Weather and brings a wealth of experience from her time at Jacqueline and Ann Arbor establishments.
The whimsical and decadent items that made Fair Weather a hit before are back, including jasmine rice porridge bowls, yeasted waffles, and cruller doughnuts.
Dinners are coming soon, featuring dishes like kumquat-topped duck confit pierogies and pasta with lobster-topped porridge.
