Justice for Grenfell deaths may not come this decade, warns former chief prosecutor

Lord MacDonald warned that the creaking criminal justice system meant any trials may not begin before 2029, pushing justice potentially beyond this decade. "Unless processes are massively expedited, justice is a very long way away," he stated, highlighting the frustration of survivors and bereaved relatives who demand accountability for the systematic failures that led to the tragedy.

Anthony Roncolato, the last person to escape Grenfell Tower, expressed the deep pain of families affected by the fire. "Think of the fathers and the mothers without their children, […] in many cases not only one person lost per family but two, three, four, five, six. It's just crazy. There has to be justice. They have to deliver," he emphasized.
