Briefly

Scott, a veteran from Baltimore, began his career at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) in 2013, leveraging his military experience to assist servicemembers facing financial challenges. As an attorney-investigator, he focused on helping individuals struggling with mortgage modifications and combating predatory lending practices. His awareness of the unique vulnerabilities of the military community, particularly regarding financial decisions, motivated him to advocate for their rights and ensure they were protected from unethical practices that often target them.

"They are getting money for the first time," he told me. "They get preyed on."
