Attorney General Dana Nessel expressed her disappointment at the lack of incriminating evidence found in the documents, stating, "It seems sort of improbable to us, right? This is a major university, obviously extensive number of employees that work there. I guess the expectation is that we would find a little bit more than we did." The absence of critical documents has raised concerns about transparency in the university's handling of the Nassar scandal.
Nessel emphasized that after extensive investigations and the review of over 100,000 documents, the claims of a cover-up by the university have not been substantiated, insisting that it was surprising to find so little information that could implicate anyone involved in the case. "It was surprising to me that we did not find anything that was incriminating," she said.
