Bay Area music teacher accused of sexually assaulting student in 2018

"Jane Doe was 16 when Allen, via phone calls and electronic messaging, began expressing "his desire to have a sexual relationship with her," investigators wrote in documents included in the complaint. Sexual activity occurred during her weekly lessons at the school."

"Sean Eric Allen, 61, is accused of assaulting the student while working for the Napa School of Music. He was employed from 2005 to 2021, according to the Napa Police Department. Prosecutors are charging Allen with four felony counts of oral copulation with a minor, two counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object, and one count each of attempted sodomy on a minor, meeting a minor for lewd purposes and contact with a minor for sexual offense."

"Each lesson room and studio features observation windows in the door or walls, allowing unobstructed visibility into sessions. Parents and guardians are welcome to observe lessons at any time, fostering transparency."

Allen was released on $250,000 bail. The school stated it maintains safety protocols including background checks and observation windows in lesson rooms.
