Jessica Guo left her $185,000 job at PwC to pursue a long-distance hiking adventure, following her completion of the Pacific Crest Trail. Despite enjoying her job as a consultant, she realized that her corporate life was not aligned with her goals. After struggling with the transition back to work post-hike, she decided to pursue her passion for hiking by quitting and preparing for a 3,700-mile trek along the Continental Divide Trail and Great Divide Trail, highlighting a shift towards valuing personal experiences over traditional career paths.
My last day of work was Wednesday, and I'm starting my next thru-hike on Monday, the Continental Divide Trail, linking it with the Great Divide Trail in Canada.
When I finished the Pacific Crest Trail, I felt like I'd just done this really amazing thing - and then I went back to work. It was a really hard transition.
