Child molester faces new charges after Berkeley victim's sibling comes forward
"Jack Jansen, 52, was convicted of sexually abusing a 7-year-old child in Berkeley a decade ago. With Jansen's jail sentence over, the sibling has made new allegations of abuse."
"The Alameda County District Attorney's Office charged 52-year-old Jack Jansen with continuous sexual abuse and two counts of sex crimes with a child age 10 or younger, along with a number of special allegations."
"In May 2012 a Berkeley woman came home to find Jansen, who had been staying at her home, and her 7-year-old child partially unclothed, police wrote in a 2015 court filing."
"The child's sibling came forward to a parent in October 2025, accusing Jansen of more than five months of sexual abuse in 2012, police said."
Jack Jansen, previously convicted of sexually abusing a 7-year-old, is facing new charges after a sibling alleged months of abuse in 2012. The Alameda County District Attorney's Office charged him with continuous sexual abuse and multiple counts of sex crimes against a child. Jansen was initially arrested in 2015 after a warrant was issued in 2012. He pleaded no contest to a lewd act upon a child, receiving a year in jail and probation. Following new allegations, he was arrested again in March 2025.
