Ryan Kwong, a newly graduated San Francisco police officer, was charged with DUI and reckless driving following a serious accident that injured three people, including one critically. Immediately after celebrating his graduation, Kwong allegedly crashed his BMW into a minivan, leading to his arrest. In court, he entered a not guilty plea, taking responsibility for the incident. The judge granted conditional release with specific restrictions. Kwong’s attorney expressed his remorse for the injuries caused and hopes for the victims' recovery. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 4.
Kwong's attorney, Ellen Burke, stated, "He's incredibly sorry for what happened. His thoughts are with the people who are injured, and he hopes for a speedy and full recovery."
Surveillance video shows the BMW Kwong was driving slamming into the rear of a minivan carrying three people, resulting in serious injuries.
