Marc Benioff apologized for suggesting the National Guard be called into San Francisco and said he no longer believes it is needed to address safety. He said his earlier comment came "from an abundance of caution" around Dreamforce and apologized for the concern it caused. He said he listened closely to San Franciscans and local officials and expressed gratitude to Mayor Lurie, SFPD, and partners. He said Dreamforce was the largest in Salesforce history with more than 50,000 attendees and that Salesforce hired hundreds of its own security personnel. Salesforce declined further comment.
