Four men accused of neo-Nazi affiliations have been indicted for child exploitation, involving the coercion of 16 children in creating child pornography and self-harm images. The group, CVLT, allegedly groomed vulnerable victims online, exposing them to extreme content while pressuring them into degrading acts. Their methods included threats and intimidation to ensure compliance. Specific cases involved minors in San Bernardino County, where at least two videos depicting exploitation were created and shared. The DOJ emphasized the involvement of members who sought to recruit followers through sadistic manipulation and abuse.
CVLT members participated in their online child exploitation activities because they wanted to create an army of sadist followers, the indictment said.
Members groomed children through a platform run by CVLT to produce the images through various means of degradation, including exposing the victims to extremist and violent content.
CVLT specifically targeted victims who may be vulnerable, such as those suffering from mental health problems or from a history of sexual abuse.
Victims were encouraged to engage in dehumanizing acts, including cutting and eating their own hair, drinking their urine, and using razor blades to carve CVLT members' names into their skin.
