Starlink's introduction of an "outside region fee" aims to deter resellers from exploiting price differences by activating satellite internet kits outside their designated sales regions.
The new fee, set at $200 for Standard kits and $300 for the Starlink Mini, applies to activations outside designated regions to discourage resale.
Starlink has identified six regions where this fee will be relevant: US and Canada, Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Oceania.
Users can avoid the outside region fee by purchasing their satellite dishes directly from Starlink or through an authorized retailer in their region.
