The "Willow" chip takes less than five minutes to solve a problem that would take a leading supercomputer about 10 septillion years to solve.
We see Willow as an important step in our journey to build a useful quantum computer with practical applications in areas like drug discovery, fusion energy, battery design + more.
Quantum computers use subatomic quantum bits, or "qubits," to process data much faster than conventional binary computers.
While it is likely years away from mainstream adoption, the technology is expected to reduce errors exponentially as we scale up using more qubits.
